About Beth Mullen

Beth is a graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy, the premier positive-reinforcement dog training program in the United States.


She is also a Certified Behavior Consultant Canine-Knowledge Assessed (CBCC-KA) and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.  In  May  2019, she joined the CCPDT board of directors


Beth is the former director of behavior and training for the Humane Rescue Alliance in Washington, DC. Previously, she was behavior specialist at the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center. Before that, she worked as an animal trainer for the Montgomery County Humane Society. 


Earlier in her career, Beth was a patient coordinator for renowned behavior veterinarian E. Kathryn Meyer, V.M.D., at the Veterinary Behavior Clinic in Gaithersburg, Md. 


Beth has also volunteered with the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary, the Washington Animal Rescue League, and Your Dog’s Friend. 


Beth is a mentor for professional dog training students enrolled in the world-renowned Victoria Stilwell Academy. Victoria, a British pet expert best known for starring in and creating the TV series It’s Me or the Dog, is a leader in force-free dog training.


Beth shares her home near Bethesda, Md., with her husband and five dogs.
