games for good citizens

A fun, games-based class for dogs one year of age and older that builds skills towards passing the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. 

Two instructors coach four pairs of dogs and dog parents through key skills that help set your dog up for success at home and in interactions with their community. 

This 5 session course is designed to enhance your dog's focus and strengthen your bond through various games. Games help to increase the fluency of your dog's behaviors around distractions, such as different sounds and movements, while near other dogs and people. At the end of the course, you and your dog may be ready to take the AKC CGC test. 

• Games for Good Citizens classes are for dogs one year of age and above, who have prior training experience.
   
• Classes meet at the Kenwood Animal Hospital, 5439 Butler Road, Bethesda, Md. 
   
• Cost is $395 per client/dog pair. Registration will be considered final after payment is received.
   
• Make-up classes cannot be offered.
   
• Attendance is limited to one handler/dog per family.
   
• Dogs must be healthy and not show aggression toward people or other dogs. 

• Classes are held with the dogs on leash and with complete visibility to other dogs.

• Dogs should have a confident, friendly temperament with a curious or indifferent attitude toward other dogs and people.
   
• No prong collars, choke chains, or retractable leashes are allowed. Body harnesses are preferred.
