about Christina Folkers

Christina is a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP) and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.

Christina is a proud dog mom to a very large German Shepherd rescue dog named Bear. Their favorite “mom-son” activity is hiking. She says, “Being able to trek the variety of trails in the DMV offers both of us some fun downtime. Bear can be reactive to dogs he doesn’t know, so the quiet of trails is soothing for both of us."

Christina teaches Dog Latin puppy classes at held at Kenwood Animal Hospital and Bone Jour, and tutors clients in their homes. She also is experienced in working with leash reactive dogs.

Growing up in suburban Maryland, Christina attended Walter Johnson High School located in Bethesda and Shepherd University located in historic Shepherdstown, West Virginia. She has volunteered at several rescue organizations including the Poplar Springs Animal Sanctuary and former Washington Animal Rescue League.
